We’ll be honest: before we came across this beer, we didn’t know the brewery. Turns out, the roots of Brouwerij & Distilleerderij Wilderen go all the way back to 1642.
The moment we tasted Wilderen Blond 0.2%, we knew it deserved a spot in our calendar. A bright blond beer with a fine head, subtle hop notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Exactly the kind of balance you hope for in a Belgian blond.
Serve it cold and enjoy. Amai, that’s good.

From the Other Side of the World
We’d never had a beer from Australia before, so we went looking. And we found this Quiet XPA from Heaps Normal. They’re an alcohol-free brewer — which we’ve always had a soft spot for. From the unusual 37.5 cl can comes a bright, hoppy beer with citrus notes and a hint of grapefruit. It’s a flavour we haven’t tasted before, likely thanks to the Australian hops combined with the wheat. We’re fans, no question.

The best IPA from the UK
On the final day of the advent calendar, we finish with a hop bomb: Spright from the British brewery Tartarus.
Spright is an archaic English term for a sprite: a sparkling, playful, almost mythical being. You see that immediately on the can, the illustration is a small work of art in itself.
But more importantly: what’s inside.
In the can, we find one of the best IPAs available right now. Brewed with the classic hop varieties Citra, Idaho 7 and Simcoe, combined with wheat and oat flakes. Full, juicy, intensely hoppy and perfectly balanced. A spectacular beer and a worthy finale to this advent calendar.

Prime Time Zero – Lager but Better is a tasty and functional alcohol-free beer. With added vitamins and no alcohol, you can rightly call this a health drink.
The beer is also gluten-free and vegan — qualities more and more people look for in an (alcohol-free) beer.

Of course, the calendar includes a stout. The choice fell on a Dutch one: Brouwerij Waterland. Known for their organic beers, and brave enough to take on one of the most challenging alcohol-free styles there is.
The first sip is light and slightly watery, but roasted notes and coffee flavors quickly follow. No frills, no tricks. Just an honest stout.

We’ll be honest: before we came across this beer, we didn’t know the brewery. Turns out, the roots of Brouwerij & Distilleerderij Wilderen go all the way back to 1642.
The moment we tasted Wilderen Blond 0.2%, we knew it deserved a spot in our calendar. A bright blond beer with a fine head, subtle hop notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Exactly the kind of balance you hope for in a Belgian blond.
Serve it cold and enjoy. Amai, that’s good.

From the Other Side of the World
We’d never had a beer from Australia before, so we went looking. And we found this Quiet XPA from Heaps Normal. They’re an alcohol-free brewer — which we’ve always had a soft spot for. From the unusual 37.5 cl can comes a bright, hoppy beer with citrus notes and a hint of grapefruit. It’s a flavour we haven’t tasted before, likely thanks to the Australian hops combined with the wheat. We’re fans, no question.

Põhjala is a must-have in our advent calendar. With beers like Tundra, Prenzlauer and Laager, this Estonian brewery has long been a solid presence in the non-alcoholic segment.
Virmalised is inspired by northern nature. There is also an alcoholic version, but this alcohol-free IPA stands its ground. Expect fruity IPA notes with a clear hint of pine.

Gelato to the max!
Today’s beer in the calendar comes from Funky Fluid: Free Gelato Passionfruit, Mango & Peach.
The can looks screamingly sweet, but in the glass it’s surprisingly restrained. What really stands out is the fruit: the creamy mango, the bright acidity of passion fruit, and the full, firm character of peach. Together, they create a bold yet well-balanced fruit beer. Dessert-like, without becoming cloying.
Funky Fluid is one of the most well-known and influential craft breweries in Poland. They’re renowned for their IPAs, sours, and stouts, and are also leading the way in alcohol-free beer. They have a broad range, high quality and plenty of guts.

Journey Juice
The advent calendar wouldn’t be complete without Mash Gang. We’ve embraced this brewery from the very beginning. Not just for the cool branding, but above all for the consistent quality and originality of their beers. Since Mash Gang has shifted its focus more towards the US, we only see new releases in Europe sporadically. This is one of them: Journey Juice.
And it’s immediately one of our favourites. Thanks to the subtle touch of chilli they’ve added, it delivers a gentle kick without ever overpowering. Interesting, well balanced, and simply delicious.

A Stubborn Scot

Another little gem
Yesterday we were still in Ireland; today we cross the sea to Scotland. There we found this Scottish beauty: a Pale Ale that, if you ask us, could just as easily be called an IPA. Brewed with classic hops like Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. The result is a solid alcohol-free beer, full of character and brewed with real class. Exactly what you’d expect from a stubborn Scot.

We’ll be honest: before we came across this beer, we didn’t know the brewery. Turns out, the roots of Brouwerij & Distilleerderij Wilderen go all the way back to 1642.
The moment we tasted Wilderen Blond 0.2%, we knew it deserved a spot in our calendar. A bright blond beer with a fine head, subtle hop notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Exactly the kind of balance you hope for in a Belgian blond.

We’d never had a beer from Australia before, so we went looking. And we found this Quiet XPA from Heaps Normal. They’re an alcohol-free brewer — which we’ve always had a soft spot for. From the unusual 37.5 cl can comes a bright, hoppy beer with citrus notes and a hint of grapefruit. It’s a flavour we haven’t tasted before, likely thanks to the Australian hops combined with the wheat. We’re fans, no question.

Slapjanus was brewed in honour of Janus – Jan van Rooden – one of the strongest men in Roelofarendsveen and the surrounding area, according to Jan himself.

We’ll be honest: before we came across this beer, we didn’t know the brewery. Turns out, the roots of Brouwerij & Distilleerderij Wilderen go all the way back to 1642.
The moment we tasted Wilderen Blond 0.2%, we knew it deserved a spot in our calendar. A bright blond beer with a fine head, subtle hop notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Exactly the kind of balance you hope for in a Belgian blond.

We’d never had a beer from Australia before, so we went looking. And we found this Quiet XPA from Heaps Normal. They’re an alcohol-free brewer — which we’ve always had a soft spot for. From the unusual 37.5 cl can comes a bright, hoppy beer with citrus notes and a hint of grapefruit. It’s a flavour we haven’t tasted before, likely thanks to the Australian hops combined with the wheat. We’re fans, no question.

Our first own beer. It was bound to happen. People often ask if we’re ever going to release a beer ourselves. Our standard answer: no. But for the advent calendar, we’re making an exception.
The beer is called The 12th Day of Christmas. It refers to the twelfth day after Christmas, January 5th. The Christmas season traditionally lasts twelve days, as you’ll know from the song “The 12 Days of Christmas.” That’s where the inspiration came from, and we gave it our own twist.

We’ll be honest: before we came across this beer, we didn’t know the brewery. Turns out, the roots of Brouwerij & Distilleerderij Wilderen go all the way back to 1642.
The moment we tasted Wilderen Blond 0.2%, we knew it deserved a spot in our calendar. A bright blond beer with a fine head, subtle hop notes, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Exactly the kind of balance you hope for in a Belgian blond.

From the unusual 37.5 cl can comes a bright, hoppy beer with citrus notes and a hint of grapefruit. It’s a flavour we haven’t tasted before, likely thanks to the Australian hops combined with the wheat. We’re fans, no question.

This beer has been on our site ever since we opened the shop. First in bottles under the name Merry Go Round, and later in cans with the same name as the best-known beer from 100 Watt. We even drove to Eindhoven ourselves (150 km) just so we could offer it. And once you taste it, you’ll understand why.

Almost impossible to get, even in England.
But they are in our advent calendar. Buttercup is a DDH Pale Ale brewed together with the hop pioneers at TNS and is the hoppiest beer they’ve ever made.
The brewery is now a well-established name in the alcohol-free beer world. Nirvana brews only alcohol-free beer, and founders Becky and Andrew started in 2016 because their father was no longer allowed to drink alcohol — and they wanted him to still enjoy good alcohol-free beer. Their search ended in brewing their own. And they still do it with a lot of love.

When we heard that our friends at Moersleutel were brewing a second alcohol-free beer, our calendar jumped at the chance. This had to be included. And specifically on December 5 — your ultimate Sinterklaas gift.
A powerful, hoppy IPA just as you’d expect from Moersleutel: refined, fresh and full of character, but with only 0.5% alcohol. Thanks to a mix of Mosaic, Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops (both T-90 and Cryo), you get bright, juicy notes of citrus, tropical fruit and even gooseberries. A bursting hop bomb, while keeping a clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Changing Tides was brought over from England especially for the advent calendar. A Lager with a touch of spice and citrus. Made with leftover bread, which you can actually taste back in the beer.
Toast Brewing from London was founded in 2016 with one mission: reduce food waste. They started with a simple but powerful idea — brewing beer with surplus bread that would otherwise be thrown away. That bread replaces part of the barley malt and gives the beer its unique character.

Leiden in trouble

A beer to “Pronck” with
For day two of the advent calendar, we chose one of the tastiest Dutch NEIPAs. Brouwerij Pronck from Leiden shows how strong local craftsmanship can be. The brewery, founded in 2014 by a group of friends, has been located on the Langegracht since 2017.
They deliberately brew on a small scale — you taste that in every sip. Their NEIPA is built around a hop combination that delivers pronounced aromas, soft bitterness and a round, fruity character. According to descriptions, the NEIPA offers a nice balance between bitter and sweet, with notes of citrus and something reminiscent of bubblegum.
No fuss, no gimmicks: just a well-balanced beer with flavour and character. A clear pick for hop lovers who appreciate craft.
A gem from the US

Tom Holland’s beer
On the first day of our advent calendar we present a golden find: BERO’s Noon Wheat. A beer we’ve been searching for for quite a while. And trust us: it doesn’t disappoint.
Noon Wheat is light, refreshing, with just a touch of sweetness. A fresh body, with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit, finished by a crisp orange-lime twist.
What makes it special? The beer was co-created by Tom Holland — known for his role as Spider-Man — who, with BERO, delivers a non-alcoholic beer experience without compromise.
Noon Wheat is named after Tom’s dog, Noon. A subtle nod to his personal story.
So: relax, crack open a can, and cheers to day one of the advent season.
