Birra Baladin from Italy is all about innovation, craftsmanship, and pushing boundaries. Since its founding in 1996 by Teo Musso in Piozzo, Italy, the brewery has positioned itself as a pioneer in the world of craft beers. What began as a humble brewpub has grown into an icon of Italian beer culture, known for its bold experimentation and unique flavors. In keeping with its philosophy of innovation, Baladin has developed three special non-alcoholic beers: Botanic Blonde , Botanic Blanche , and Botanic IPA . These beers stand out for their use of innovative ingredients and their collaboration with the University of Turin. In this blog, we will describe them in detail.

🌿 Botanic Blonde – A Zen experience in a bottle
Botanic Blonde is a non-alcoholic beer that exudes calm and balance. It contains a blend of herbs and spices, including passionflower and cannabis sativa (CBD). What makes it special is the addition of cannabis oil: Extraction is carried out using a patented microwave technology process, without alcohol or chemicals. The taste is fresh and slightly bitter, with a pleasant balsamic aftertaste.
🌼 Botanic Blanche – A floral refreshment
Botanic Blanche is a wheat beer characterized by its floral aromas of chamomile and citrus notes, with a creamy aftertaste. The use of passionflower and chamomile gives the beer a subtle bitterness and a refined and refreshing taste. This beer is the perfect choice for lovers of light, aromatic beer.
🍊 Botanic IPA – citrus and spice in harmony
The Botanic IPA is a bitter non-alcoholic beer with a distinct citrus profile thanks to the addition of orange and grapefruit. Passionflower contributes a calming effect, while gentian provides a pleasant bitterness. This beer is ideal for those who love a fresh, hoppy flavor with a subtle spiciness.
🧪 Scientific cooperation for sustainable innovation
These three beers were developed in collaboration with the University of Turin as part of the Nutribev project. This research initiative focuses on the creation of functional beverages through the (re)use of production by-products and the use of innovative extraction techniques. The Botanic beers are not only a taste experience, but also an example of sustainability and scientific progress in the beer industry.
🍻 Finally
Birra Baladin (or Birrificio Baladin Società Agricola srl as it is fully known) continues to push boundaries with this Botanic series. These non-alcoholic beers offer a unique taste experience, supported by scientific research and innovative production techniques. Whether you're looking for tranquility, refreshment, or a citrus kick, Botanic beers offer something for everyone. These beers are, of course, available through ONP5 and are a must-try for any beer lover.
