More info
The history of Leffe goes back to the year 1200, when beer was brewed in the Abbey. At that time, water was not very drinkable, so many people preferred beer over water (always sensible). Around 1950 the recipe was taken over by InBev. The question is therefore whether it can still be called abbey beer. In any case, Leffe is a pride of many Belgians and it has a number of delicate specialty beers that you should definitely taste.
