Historische Gewassen - Zomertortel is a unique Belgian creation that brings together tradition and innovation in a special way. Instead of malt, this low-alcohol drink is brewed with 100% unmalted grains from Stichting Historische Gewassen Natuur(lijk) Zeeuws. This results in a surprisingly flavorful and innovative product that is part of the innovative MaltLess concept. Because no malt is used, Zomertortel does not meet the official definition of beer. What you do get, however, is a characterful, low-alcohol specialty with its own identity, brewed with craftsmanship and respect for historic grains.

The Historical Crops Nature(ally) Zeeland Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of old Dutch grain varieties and other historical crops. With a focus on biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, and cultural history, volunteers cultivate these special crops on Zeeland fields. By turning them into products such as pasta and beer, the foundation brings this agricultural heritage back to life. Furthermore, with every product sold, the foundation contributes to the preservation of agricultural nature and bird species such as the European turtle dove.
