The Jopen brewery, since 1994, set out to revive Haarlem's old beer tradition. Hopenbier was brewed again for the first time during its 750th anniversary.
Since 2010, the Jopen brewery (including a grand cafe and a restaurant) has been located in the former St. Jacob's Church, which has now been renamed Jopenkerk.
