Light, hoppy and flavoursome. Brewed by one of the "classic" craft breweries from the Netherlands. Jopen himself claims that he also has fruit in him, but I have not been able to discover that. A special yeast ensures that hardly any sugars are converted into alcohol during the brewing process. In addition, according to Haarlem tradition, 3 types of grain were used: barley, oats and wheat.

The Jopen brewery, since 1994, has started to revive the old beer tradition of Haarlem. During the 750th anniversary it was first again Heap beer brewed.
Since 2010, the Jopen brewery (including a grand cafe and a restaurant) has been located in the former Jacobskerk, which has now been renamed Jopenkerk.Qualities
