More info
Brouwerij Leroy, located in Boezinge near Ypres, is a family brewery with a rich history dating back to 1572. Originally known as Brouwerij Het Sas, the name was chosen because of the proximity of a lock in the canal. After destruction during the First World War, the brewery was rebuilt and in 1924 brewing resumed in the center of Boezinge.
In 1962, Brouwerij Van Eecke came into the hands of the Leroy family through family ties. The collaboration between both breweries became increasingly stronger, and in 2016 it was decided to continue under one name: Leroy Breweries. Today, the brewery is managed by the tenth and eleventh generation of the Leroy family, who continue the tradition of craftsmanship and passion for beer.
Leroy Breweries is known for its high-quality beers, including the famous Poperings Hommelbier, Kapittel beers and the tribute to the Ypres surgeon Dr. Yperman with the beer Yperman.
