Born in South Birmingham and built on hard work, creativity, and community spirit. What started in an attic in Kings Heath has grown into the largest independent brewery in the West Midlands. We are still an owner-owned company, still self-funded, and still rooted in our community.

Oli and Sam, the founders, met at university and bonded over their shared love for pubs and the world of beer. After graduating, they grew tired of their office jobs and founded Attic with a simple wish: to bring better beer to Birmingham.

We brewed our first beers in Sam's attic in a brewery he had built with his grandfather. Our first batches were soon a hit with everyone we knew, and suddenly that small space felt too small. We knew the rest of Birmingham had to taste it too.

We started small with old equipment and built our taproom with the help of friends and family. We experienced our share of difficult days and setbacks along the way, but we persevered step by step. By reinvesting everything we earned back into the brewery, we grew from a local brewpub into the largest independent brewery in the region. Now our beer reaches people in Birmingham and beyond.

We represent Birmingham at a national level. A modern expression of the city's self-confidence, creativity, and warmth.
