Entrepreneurs Maarten de Keijzer and Christian Hageraats, both beer lovers through and through and both native Arnhem residents, jointly developed the idea for a brewery in Arnhem.Durs pays tribute to Arnhem's water. The Sint-Jansbeek is central to this. The city was founded on this stream. There were several breweries along the stream as early as the 13th century. They used the water from the stream to brew beer and do so again.
