Brouwerij Kompel is a contract brewery based in Maasmechelen, Belgium. The brewery was founded in 2015. Kompel means "friend" or "mate" in German, but what it actually stands for is a name miners gave each other. There were coal mines in Maasmechelen, and Brewery Kompel was founded as a tribute to all the miners who came from far away. All their beers feature a miner on the bottles. It is their mission to make beer for everyone and to foster camaraderie, regardless of work or background. Very cool.
